Our Mission

JustVPN was founded on one simple premise: the VPN review industry is broken. Most "independent" comparison sites are owned by the same companies that sell VPNs, or accept payment for higher rankings. We built JustVPN to be genuinely independent.

Our Testing Methodology

Every VPN we review goes through a 30-day testing process:

  1. Purchase: We buy every subscription ourselves, using our own payment method.
  2. Speed testing: Daily speed tests from UK servers using Ookla Speedtest, measuring download, upload, and ping across local, European, and US servers.
  3. Streaming: We test each VPN against BBC iPlayer, Netflix UK, Netflix US, Disney+, Amazon Prime, ITVX, Channel 4, and Hulu — checking reliability, not just a single success.
  4. Security audit: DNS/IP/WebRTC leak testing, kill switch reliability, and review of published no-logs audit reports.
  5. Torrenting: P2P performance testing, kill switch verification, and port forwarding capability.
  6. Jurisdiction review: Analysis of the legal environment, privacy laws, and audit history of each provider's headquarters.

How We Make Money

JustVPN earns commission when you purchase a VPN through our affiliate links. This is disclosed on every page. Importantly, VPN providers cannot pay for higher rankings — positions are determined entirely by our test scores. We earn the same commission whether you buy NordVPN or Windscribe.
